On Monday night For Body and Light–an evocative spoken word and dance project featuring Ian Ferrier, Stephanie Morin-Robert and multiple dancers–will be at Divan Orange to help kick off the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word.
The show takes place at the Divan, 4234 St-Laurent, Montreal on Monday November 4th at 8PM.
It launches a week of spoken word competitions, feature performances by poets, workshops and discussions. This is an amazing festival that travels to a different city in Canada each year. For this, its 10th anniversary and first visit to Montreal, Quebec, the festival will highlight work by First Nations performers and performers in both English and French.
Featured are some of the top names in spoken word in Canada, including but not limited to Jose Acquelin, Tanya Evanson, Josephine Bacon, David Bateman, Taqralik Partridge, Moe Clark, Louise Halfe and many many more. At the core of the festival are 24 teams of poets from cities across Canada, all in Montreal to soak up life in the Mile End and compete for bragging rights as the top slam team in Canada.
