This Saturday November 9th at 4:30 PM Café Resonance launches “Lyrical” a series of afternoon concerts and performances you can use to warm up your weekends all winter long.
Each concert will feature engaging works by solo artists or duets—works that last a bit more than 30 minutes and never more than an hour.
Catch one on your way home from doing Saturday groceries, or at the end of an afternoon kicking around the Mile End. Hear work by top names in the Montreal music scene. And expect the sound that draws so many to Resonance, that of the amazing 12 foot grand piano that sits at centre stage and the musicians who play it.
Our first performer is renowned artist/activist Stefan Christoff, Stefan is a community activist and a musician living in Montréal. In 2012 he released Duets for Abdelrazik, in 2013 he launched the first two releases of the St. Laurent piano project, Temps libre an EP and also родина a collaboration with musician Sam Shalabi.
Here’s the list of all our events for November:
Solo piano by Stefan Christoff November 9th
Sage Reynolds (contrabass) November 16th
Jazz piano by Kate Wyatt November 23rd
Vocalist Emma Frank and friends November 30th
The series is curated in collaboration with Montreal poet/performer Ian Ferrier, whose own performance work often mixes words, music and dancers. So expect a wide range of material over the course of the series. There is no strict admission price. If you like the show, a contribution of $5 – $7 would be much appreciated and would help us continue to present new work each week.
