Each year, the McGill Classics Department produces a student-directed, modern adaptation of an Ancient Greek play to provide a space for the exchange of art and ideas around Greek texts in our Montreal community. Aristophanes’ Lysistrata is a comedy with live jazz choruses about a sex-strike to end the Peloponnesian War. The last shows are this weekend, February 12-15 at Mainline Theatre at 8 PM (3997 St-Laurent.) We would greatly appreciate it if you could spread the word about our play to anyone who might be interested. Attached is a copy of the poster and a press release with more information, including information about a special lecture on Ancient Drama by Professor Meineck from NYU this Friday, February 14.
