If you’re seeking focused time to work on a project in the field of mountain and wilderness writing under the guidance of experienced faculty editors, this residency is for you.
About the Mountain and Wilderness Writing Program
Immerse yourself in the writing project of your choice in the company of five other emerging and established writers with similar interests. Projects may range from feature articles to poetry, or fiction, but must be in the area of mountain or wilderness culture, which includes writing with a focus on adventure, history, or the environment.
Along with private studio time in our exclusive Leighton Colony, you’ll benefit from individual consultation with two faculty editors experienced in book and magazine publishing, as well as from regular workshop discussions with fellow writers.
Access the Banff Mountain Film & Book Festival
Participants will receive complimentary tickets to the Book Festival activities of the annual Banff Mountain Film & Book Festival — the premier platform for mountain writers. Be inspired by readings, lectures, panel discussions, book launches, and signings. Take the opportunity to network with other writers, editors, publishers, and other Festival guests.
